Groups including the Consumer Electronics Association and CTIA-The Wireless Association are speaking out against one provision of a proposed compromise being considered by record labels and broadcasters as part of their ongoing feud over radio royalties.

Japan's Intellectual Property High Court on Thursday ordered Sony Corp to pay a former employee about 5.1 million yen as reward for his invention of a technology used in PlayStation game consoles, reversing a lower court ruling that had rejected his demand.

New release Death at a Funeral finished in second place on all three charts and last week's triple-winner Kick-Ass was knocked down to third place on all charts as well.
It was a distant second place for Death at a Funeral , though, as it was reported that the Chris Rock comedy only sold 47% as many units as Date Night sold, during the week ending August 15.
Date Night completed a sweep with a win on the Blu-ray sales charts, although the film wasn't exactly a juggernaut in the 1080p format.
